The BIG Race

It is hard to imagine being out camping with dogs in subfreezing temperatures right now, but that that is exactly what 60 odd mushers are doing in Alaska as they attempt to complete the journey from Willow to Nome in the last great race. They journey by dog sled along a thousand miles of open tundra. At the moment Lance Mackey has about an eight hour lead and it looks like he will quite possibly win for the third year in a row. His team is running strong and still has 16 dogs at the most recent check point. Check it out at:
