My Wooden Sammy

We are headed to Topeka for the Field of Dreams 2008 Samoyed Club of America national specialty. One of the fund raisers this year is a competition of art embellished wooden Samoyeds. To enter the contest a fee of $20. was paid and each contestant received an identical cut out of a Samoyed. It is about 1/2 inch thick and a little over a foot tall. All over the country Samoyed fanciers have been painting, and embellishing their wooden Samoyeds for the contest. Once at the national they will be on display and there is a prize for the best one. Later all of them will be auctioned off with proceeds going to support the club. Mine is almost done. Here she is!
