July 4th

On the 4th of July we spent part of the day with Ellen and John and their family doing the family cook out thing. After lunch we relaxed and watched Ellen's daughter work the horses. Ellen helped her break in one, by mounting her for the first time. It was really amazing to watch.

Dirt Pile

O.K. Here is ONE of the dirt piles in front of our house. This one is top soil. The other pile is gravel and is the same size. Someday soon we will be able to park in front of the house again!

Weekend Warriors

Mike and I are being weekend warriors this 4th of July. We are putting in a new pathway in the front yard and langscaping around the front. It has taken us six weeks to get to the point we are today! First we pulled out the old bushes then broke up the concrete walkway and hauled away yards and yards of stones. After having gravel and top soil delivered (more on that later), we began to dig out the walkway so we could add four inches of gravel and one inch of sand. Saturday while Mike was at work, I laid down the pathway until I ran out of bricks. We got more bricks last night and hope to get more done today! That is if we don't collapse first.
