Tulip Time

West Michigan is known for the beauty of our tulips since we are close to the city of Holland. Last fall I planted a double row of these beauties in the front garden. See how the rain drops cling to it? Next year I think I'll plant more!

The Scent of Spring

I try to walk Korbel and Boston around our block every day or so. We go down Lincoln then turn on 144th and take a private road back through the woods and then come back to our house via Lincoln which is about a 1 mile walk. When I approach our house I could have a blindfold on and know when to turn, for the air is filled with the beautiful scent of the white lilac on the edge of our property. We have a few purple lilacs but it seems this white one is the most fragrant.

Exactly what is she looking for?

When Korbel is out in the yard, it is sometimes surprising to look out and see what she is up to. She is all over the place. See this? Up on the table or checking out the birdfeeder. You just never know where you will find her. So is it the seed she wants or the birds?

Chance to Shine

Mike is off at a show this weekend. I wanted to go but dissertation work had to be a priority..not to mention cleaning the refrigerator and washing ten loads of laundry! He called a little bit ago to tell me that DreamWeaver's Chance to Shine got his first two points...this under Mike's favorite judge Peggy Hogg. Congratulations to Mike and Chance. I knew that little devil dog had it in him! Here is his pictures.

Weekend Company

We had Sarah visiting this weekend and the three girls just had so much fun playing. It was a joy to watch them. Sarah is Boston's Aunt. She and Anna were littermates, so she is Korbel's great aunt. Here they are saying good-bye to Ethel who is Sarah's owner. Don't they look cute there at the top of the stairs?
In case you aren't sure, it is (from left) Boston, Korbel and Sarah on the right. Yup they do all look a bit alike!

Puppy Heaven

There is nothing quite like the day you go to pick up your new puppy. I was honored to be able to watch as one of my good friends and her family picked up their new puppy this past weekend. Introducing "Bindi" who is snuggling in the arms of her new owner. Aren't they adorable?
