Tish the Dish Needs Prayers

Our lovely Tisha aka Tish the Dish broke her leg back in June. After having it set and a splint put on, it failed to heal so we had a pin put in her leg. Unfortunately it still hasn't healed and today I took her to MSU to the veterinary college for a second opinion. Unfortunately the pin wasn't put in quite right originally and now she is facing another surgery with a bone graft. The vets are not hugely optimistic, but are hopeful that she will regain use of her leg. It will take some good fortune with a difficult surgery followed by lots of rehabilitation including swimming, massage and physical therapy. Please if you can, send her your loving and healing thoughts and prayers. She needs all the help she can get. This sweet gal is truly a doll and she deserves a good outcome!

What's Up?

Mike's up, on the ladder that is. Several people have mentioned that there hasn't been a blog update since September and wanted to know why. With the last few weeks of good weather left we have been cleaning out the garage, painting the trim on the house and getting ready for winter. And Liz can be found most weekends sitting at the kitchen table or at her computer preparing her dissertation survey for mailing. The database has 294 individuals and was put together from six sources, which didn't agree resulting in many, many corrections. Like any good survey there will be a total of at least three mailings to all 294 people plus two follow up mailings to those that don't respond. The result is 1,800 labels to be applied to envelopes, 1,200 stamps to be added, 600 letters to be individually signed, 300 $1. bills to be taped in place and all of the envelopes hand stuffed, double checked and then mailed. Whew! Meantime there is still work every day, laundry, dogs to play with, train and feed. Of course sometimes they do entertain themselves but then they get so dirty that they need baths. Oh well. Stay tuned, more blog posting will be on the way shortly.
