SCA National 2005

We are back from the National Specialty where we had a lovely time. The show committee did an outstanding job. They thought of every detail and it was obvious that they put many months of work into making this a very special week!

Boston had a good week with a 2nd leg toward her CD title. She didn't place but was one of only 6 who qualified (out of 17) In Rally she was third with a score of 98 (out of 100) behind two dogs with a CDX and a UDX! Now we will have to look for some rally trials so she can finish that title. Funny I hadn't even planned on it. Here she is with her proud mom!

Later when I get some time I will post some pictures of the show location. It was beautiful and we were lucky enough to get a room with a walk out to the river!

Sweetest Day

Mike promised me that if I married him my life would be an adventure. So far he is right. You just never know what the day will bring. This morning Mike had to work and left before I got up. I let the downstairs dogs outside, went up the stairs to the kitchen and found something on my stove top. Look at this beautiful bouquet of flowers he left me for Sweetest Day! Wow. I sat down to send him an e-card to thank him and the phone rang. It was the neighbor calling to say the dogs were out! I rushed out of the house in my robe to find little Poms running around the front yard. I chased them back into the fenced area and turned around to find two neighbors coming towards me each with a bundle of fur in their arms. Seems someone left the gate open. Yup, never a dull moment at the Solid Gold house!

Katrina and our plans

We were planning a trip to the Florida Keys this fall but Katrina changed that when she damaged several of the places we had booked! Soooooo ......for our Thanksgiving break this year, we are going to London. We have a bed and breakfast reserved in the Mayfair section of London which if you are familiar with the area is near Hyde Park. It is a 20 minute walk to Buckingham Palace, close enough to the tube for us to get around the city easily and in one of London's oldest and most aristocratic neighborhoods. We can't wait for our trip! Here is a picture of the living room of our b and b.

In October we will travel to Owensboro Kentucky for the Samoyed Club of America National Specialty. Traveling with us will be Boston, Korbel and Ernie. Boston is entered in best of breed, obedience and rally. Korbel is in futurity, sweepstakes and regular 12 to 18 month class. Ernie is in best of breed. The national was planned for Biloxi Mississippi but Katrina changed all that when she flattened our hotel. This new venue however is much closer for us and sounds like it will be an excellent adventure. We will update you with pictures and news as we get closer to the event. In the mean time Boston is attending obedience class twice per week and both Boston and Korbel are out running for a half hour per day so they are in tip top shape for the show!
