The Chair

There is a very popular chair in our house. It is an old chair and has a slip cover over it because it is so very popular. I almost never sit in it, preferring the leather sofa. However almost everyone else wants to sit in the chair. Here is a typical evening..actually hour. It starts out with Mike sitting in the chair. Wrangler gets up on the arm of the chair and protests. He wants the chair and after bothering Mike, manages to get Mike to give up the chair (he moves to the sofa). Now Wrangler has the chair to himself. Along comes Korbel who wants the chair. Now see she manages to get Wrangler out of the chair and howls with glee. Ooops, before she can get up into the chair, up jumps Creme! Look who is king of the chair now. Me? I just watch and laugh. My seat on the sofa is safe for now.

Progress Report

Things are moving right along. The latest news is:
  1. Boston has lost her tuck up (aka girlish figure)
  2. One week ago we began to transition her to a higher protein food to help puppies grow.
  3. She is pretty dirty because she keeps going down inside the dens she has dug.
  4. Daily 20 minute walks are designed to keep her (and me) in shape.
  5. Boston still thinks the rabbits should be chased.
  6. Sometimes she seems to think twice about jumping the two foot Pomeranian fence but she does it anyway.
  7. Three weeks to go, stay tuned.

The Den

Our front yard is greening up very nicely. The big back yard is also greening up with spring rains. But the upper back yard where Boston and Korbel spend a good part of the day...well it looks like a war zone. Boston is busy preparing multiple dens. I shot this through the window so it isn't as clear as it might be, but if I open the door she will get up and run over to me. Boston seems to be enjoying her "paw"work. Won't she be surprised when she learns that she isn't having her puppies down in one of these dens!

Weekends lately

I've been staying home on the weekends lately to work on a paper I need to finish for graduate school (which was due two years ago). It is the one last project I need to finish up besides my dissertation which is on hold while I wait to meet with a committee member. I also don't like to leave our pregnant gals, so it is just as well anyway. Boston is pregnant for sure and and we are waiting to find out about a Pom we hope is too.

To give me some time to work Mike has been off to shows the last two weekends. Last weekend he picked up the major on Chance. This weekend is was only a one point show but he won with Chance on Saturday and then with Creme on Sunday! Pictures will be posted soon.

In the meantime, Boston and I go for a 1/2 hour walk each day to keep us both in shape. She seems to enjoy all the attention and especially the tummy rubs she gets while pregnant. All is well in this early spring.

Cigars All Around

Sniper and Boston are giving out cigars this morning. Good news from the vet's office. Here is a little Sniper x Boston baby! It is a small litter and they are about 33 day along. That is all we know for now. We are all doing a happy dance!

Chance Shines

DreamWeaver's Chance to Shine and Mike had a good time yesterday in the show ring under Judge Edd Biven. Chance went Best of Winners to pick up his first major! Way to go boys.
