Kettunen Center weekend

This weekend Boston, Treasure, Alaska and I traveled with friend Ellen and her Sonnie to norther Michigan's Kettunen Center our 4-H retreat. It was the 4-H Companion Animal workshop and I was teaching Rally as well as helping to organize and support the weekend as part of my work. It was a super busy exhausting weekend. We had a big time trainer Adele Yunck teaching dog obedience for a good part of the weekend. Treasure was one of her demo dogs and her job was to show the audience how a young dog or puppy is trained. Treasure did a great job and showed how smart she was by learning everything super fast. Here she is relaxing in Ellen's lap while waiting her turn to go back out on the demo floor.

New little DreamWeaver

We have a new little DreamWeaver Pom who was born Sunday, April 20, 2008 in the morning. Creme is being a wonderful mom and seems to enjoy nursing. She hasn't left his side yet! We turned on the web cam and you can look in on her. If it says "off line" that simply means there are too many people on at once and there is no more room. Just try again later. At this point you will probably only see Creme sleeping. The baby is so small that he is almost always hidden underneath her. Later when he begins to walk you will be able to see him much more often.

New Guy in Town

I took a road trip this weekend with two friends. We drove to the northern forests of Wisconsin to bring home two dogs who needed homes. One named Ginger will live here in West Michigan with her family of four plus a Samoyed pal named Sasha. The other is our newest boy who will live with breeding partners Bill and Sharon Code. Here is the new lead dog for the Starbuck team and a future show dog for Solid Gold. His name is Austin and he is three years old. After some TLC he will be out at the shows and the trail.

Every Gal's Dream

My husband just doesn't get it. Every woman he talks to about the walk in closet he built for me seems to think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. He is a guy all right, but he was willing to build the closet anyway and I love it. In fact it makes me feel like a grown up some how. Maybe it is the rest of the house is in disarray from the frantic life we lead, but the closet? Mmmmm...all mine and all organized. Check it out. This used to be the furnace room!

It must be Spring

It must be spring because we keep finding a BIG lazy bones cat laying around. Sometimes in a chair, and sometimes in a patch of sun. Doesn't he look comfortable? I guess the warm weather makes him sleepy.

Colin's Forever Home

Cute little Colin found a forever home with Scott and Jackie. He is settling in quite well and even likes their big lab. Now he has two humans to play fetch with him by the hour. What a lucky guy to have two people who love him so much.
